Oncoforum Urology: a digital platform where physicians stay up-to-date

Problem

With the high workload in clinical practice and number of yearly congresses, it is hard for physicians to keep up-to-date with all new scientific info relevant to their practice.

Solution

The Oncoforum Urology programme aims to provide physicians with slides on oncological urology quickly after the congress. These slides can also be presented at meetings.

Oncoforum is really of great help! I strongly suggest my colleagues to regularly check the website in order to up-date their knowledge with the latest news on Uro-oncology Alberto Bossi, Radiation Oncologist, France

Global set-up

Experienced urologists, radiation and medical oncologists attend congresses and report onsite to an Ismar medical writer. Based on the feedback, we compose slides with a focus on data with impact on clinical practice. An expert committee does an independent review, rating the impact of the data on (future) clinical practice, and providing additional background. The slides, ratings and comments are available at http://www.oncoforum.org.

Dissemination of content

Yearly, we cover 7 onco-urological meetings, resulting in 300+ slides. The 2000+ registered users on the website spend ±10 minutes per visit. Since May 2010, 15000+ visits from 98 countries resulted in 3000+ downloads. The Oncoforum Urology programme is now an established concept in many countries and 40+ regional meetings are organised yearly. At the yearly international summary meeting, delegates discuss the new data with the Oncoforum faculty.
